LongeVC: Meet the Experts Behind LongeVC’s Visionary Investments

Not just anyone can identify breakthrough biotechnology and bring it to market. That’s why LongeVC has a talented team of physicians, physicists, technologists, clinicians, researchers, PhDs and more on a constant quest for the latest longevity discoveries. With backgrounds ranging from molecular biology to data analytics, the LongeVC team is eager to explore new areas in biotechnology and longevity to identify promising startups and ideas with unbounded potential.


Meet the Management Team

Our Management Team oversees the daily operations of LongeVC, helping to coordinate with and identify new LPs, manage business development, and support the investment team in negotiating deals. Their work is vital to the success of the VC, as it ensures smooth onboarding for portfolio companies and LPs alike. Meet them here:


Toms Sturitis
Toms Sturitis is the Chief Operating Officer at LongeVC, with more than ten years of experience in foreign direct investment attraction and aiding international companies in business development. Before joining LongeVC, he worked for the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia and the Liepaja Business Incubator.
Toms holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management, an MBA from BA School of Business and Finance, and a Master's in Business Administration from SBS Swiss Business School.

Konstantinos Maitos
Konstantinos Maitos is LongeVC’s Chief Financial Officer. He is an HCMC-certified portfolio manager with more than eight years of experience in the financial sector, including asset valuations, financial strategies, portfolio monitoring for early-stage VC funds and more. He previously worked for HSBC as an investment analyst and Axia Ventures Group as an equity analyst.
Konstantinos holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Patras and an MBA in Finance from the Athens University of Economics and Business. He is currently a PhD candidate in Financial Engineering from the Athens University of Economics and Business.

Rachel Pipan
Rachel is an advisor for Marketing, Communications and PR at LongeVC. She is a communications expert specialising in seed, start-up, and scale-up public relations, marketing, and engagement. Rachel led PR strategy at Bitfury — a leading full-service blockchain technology company, working cooperatively across their global offices and international teams to achieve PR objectives for Bitfury’s eight business divisions. Rachel is the co-founder and managing director of Maneuvre, an Amsterdam-based strategy firm supporting visionary companies. She is also an Ambassador for the Global Blockchain Business Council.
Rachel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication from Auburn University and a Master's degree in Strategic Communications from American University.

Artemy Shumskiy
Artemy is an Investment Associate at LongeVC with deep experience in molecular and cellular biology and biotechnology. Before joining LongeVC, Artemy interned for top biotech research institutions, including the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Skolkovo Institute of Science and BostonGene.
Artemy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Master’s in Biotechnology from Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology.

Amrita Jain
Amrita is a Non-Therapeutics Lead at LongeVC. She previously held positions at Fusix Biotech, a pre-clinical-stage biotechnology company developing a next-generation oncolytic virus platform to treat patients across multiple tumor types. She was also a Business Development Manager for cancer immunotherapy company Immatics Biotechnologies and an Investment Analyst at the venture capital fund Life Science Partners (LSP).
Amrita holds a Master's degree in Genome Sciences/Genomics from Madurai Kamaraj University and a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Utrecht.

Vlad Cernoutan
Vlad is an Investment Associate at LongeVC. He has a background in business and finance, including data analysis, microeconomics, managerial accounting and international finance. Before joining LongeVC, Vlad served as a Fixed Income Trading Operations Specialist at SEB Global Services and the Chief Microeconomist for IFund.
Vlad holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics from Rīgas Ekonomikas augstskola - Stockholm School of Economics in Riga.

How Our Team Works

Our management and investment teams work closely to identify promising opportunities for the fund, including attending pitching competitions, monitoring new research publications and facilitating introductions through the fund’s diverse network. Potential investment opportunities undergo rigorous due diligence to ensure they have the qualities needed to achieve business and scientific success.
