Our portfolio company Rubedo Life Sciences has announced promising preliminary results from its Phase 1 clinical trial of RLS-1496, the world's first GPX4 modulator to enter human trials, evaluated in patients with plaque psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and photo-aged skin.
The study met its primary endpoint and demonstrated strong safety and tolerability across all cohorts, with no serious adverse events or discontinuations. Beyond safety, the trial showed early efficacy signals: a statistically significant relationship between target engagement and clinical improvement in psoriasis, substantial clinical improvement in atopic dermatitis patients, and early indicators of collagen restoration and reduced inflammation in photo-aged skin.
A Phase 1b/2a study in actinic keratosis is already underway in the United States, with results expected later this year.
